Harmonizing Mind & Body

By practicing the swara, it has been observed that a human beingĀ can live a healthy and peaceful life. Swara Kriya Vigyan(SKV) is an ancient Indian science which explains how the movements of prana(the cosmic life force) can be controlled by manipulation of the breathe. In human body there are three swaras which correspond with the three major systems, termed as trinity.
- Prana governing all physiological functions of the body
- Chilla responsible of all psychological functions
- Ananda the feature of higher level of consciousness
When the chandra swara(left nostril) flows, it indicates that the mental energy, chilla is predominant and the pranic energy is weak. When the Surya Swara(right nostril) is flowing, pranic force is stronger and the mental aspect is weak. When the Surya Swara(both nostrils) operate together, it indicates that we are on the journey to higher status of consciousness.
All of our actions in our life can be classified into three main categories and each type of action is presided over by the specific flow of the Swara. The right swara presides over physical actions, the leftover mental actions and the middle swara pressides over spiritual action.SKV aims at harmonizing the mind and the body by adjusting the actions with the swara.
How to change Swara
Normally a swara flows for one hour and then automatically gets changed, this is the natural way of changing swara. It aims at harmonizing the mind and body by adjusting the action with the swara. If the flow of swara is not appropriate according to the actions being carried out, then one can change the swara with the tips given below:
- Concentrate at the nostril(right or left) depending on which swara you want to activate
- Put pressure to the opposite foot.If one stands on right foot then right foot then the left swara activates and vice versa
- Close that nostril with finger opposite to which you want to activate the swara
